BPTT Reviews
The Blind Pipe Tobacco Tastings are an ASP tradition started in 1997, which have carried on to the present day. This archive is meant to be a complete collection of those postings. (If anyone knows of a missing review, please let me know.)
The BPTT has only a few rules. Small groups are set up (and there can be more than one), and each member of each group will play "host" for one month. They send out tobacco samples to each of the other group members (usually two tobaccos), and compile the reviews that are emailed back, posting them to ASP. None of the other group members know what they're reviewing, which is the "magic element" to these posts. Some hosts, when they post the reviews, choose to let the reader know what the group members are reviewing, and some choose to keep you guessing until the last paragraph.
There are only a couple other rules. The tobacco has to be readily available, and can't be a drugstore blend or a goopy aromatic. It also has to be smokeable when it arrives.
The posts archived here have received only minimal editing, and some basic formatting. For the most part, they appear the same here as they do in the ASP Archives. I hope you enjoy reading them.
